About this fabric

The face of this woven fabric shows broad, softly textured Venetian red columns divided by narrow vertical bands in olive, ochre-gold, cream and deep brown. The restrained contrast gives the stripe a tailored, quietly decorative character, while the red ground reads warmer and softer than a clear, bright scarlet. At 215 gsm and 59 threads per centimetre, it has the substance of a versatile mid-weight cloth suited to both upholstery and drapery. It has a useable width of 137 cm, a 35 cm horizontal repeat and no vertical repeat; the standard length is 35 m.

How to use it

Use the muted terracotta-red ground on a bedroom headboard, occasional chair or full-height curtains, then pick up the stripe’s olive and ochre notes in plain cushions, painted joinery or a softly aged timber finish.

Use this warm Venetian red stripe to bring tailored colour and a subtle olive-gold lift to upholstery, curtains or blinds.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Lisere Stripe Venetian Red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
