About this fabric

This 416 gsm velvet has the substantial handle expected of a fabric suited to upholstery. Its usable width is 134 cm, with a large 110.5 cm vertical repeat and a 134 cm horizontal repeat that allow the scenic composition to read across a broad panel or seat. The blue ground appears cool and slightly softened rather than bright, while rust, terracotta, ochre and cream details give the design visual depth. Fine surface texture catches the light across the illustrated motifs, adding tonal variation without diminishing the intricate scene.
