Arden Velvet Blue layers a deep, cool blue ground with an intricate woodland scene of deer, birds, rabbits and curling foliage. The muted olive, sage, cream and ochre details give the colourway an aged, storybook depth rather than a bright or contemporary blue character.

About this fabric

The dark blue background creates strong contrast for the cream and tan deer, pale birds and small animal figures, while olive and sage leaves fill the surrounding pattern. Fine rust, gold and pale floral accents add warmth across the otherwise cool ground, and the velvet surface gives the densely printed design a softly plush appearance. At 416 gsm, with 57.7 threads per cm, this is a substantial fabric well suited to upholstered seating and other decorative furniture. The design has a 98 cm vertical repeat and 134 cm horizontal repeat across its 134 cm usable width; the standard length is 50 m.

How to use it

Use Arden Velvet Blue on a statement armchair, sofa or footstool where its deep blue ground can anchor a room. Pick up the muted olive foliage with plain cushions or painted timber, and echo the warm deer and ochre accents through aged brass or russet accessories.
