About this colour

This shade reads as a cool, softened blue with a strong grey influence, so it feels calm rather than bright. Its #ACB4B7 value gives it enough body to hold its own on a wall, while still lifting a room more than a deeper slate or denim tone. In north-facing light it can turn a little cooler and more pewter, which suits rooms that need clarity. In south-facing light the blue comes forward gently and the grey keeps it from feeling sugary or seaside. It works well beside pale oak, smoked timber and polished brass, and it is a good background for linen, wool and patterned upholstery in muted navy, stone and sage.
