About this fabric

Woven in 54% polyester and 46% cotton, this Ashley Wilde fabric is specified for severe contract upholstery and drapes, and carries a 50,000 rub test. At 140cm wide, it is a practical plain for larger projects, while the 459gsm weight gives the cloth reassuring body and a stable hang. The swatch shows a rich merlot shade with plum-burgundy undertones, broken by fine weave texture that softens the finish. It feels warm and composed rather than bright, making the colour look deeper in shade and a little livelier where light catches the yarns.

How to use it

Use this merlot tone on a statement armchair, banquette or headboard to add depth without resorting to a print. It also makes a handsome curtain or blind fabric where the red-violet colour can glow against pale stone, taupe or dark timber.

A rich wine tone that works beautifully across tailored upholstery and elegant curtains.
