Montpellier Velvet Graphite is a deep, cool grey velvet with a softly brushed surface and a subtly shifting nap. The plain, shadowed colour reads almost blue-grey in the darker areas of the swatch, while the raised pile catches a gentler grey sheen.

About this fabric

Made from 100% polyester, this 140 cm-wide velvet has a 100,000 Martindale rub rating, making it suitable for fixed upholstery as well as curtains and bedspreads. Its dense-looking pile gives the graphite shade depth rather than a flat charcoal appearance, with small changes in light revealing the direction of the nap. The colour is restrained and architectural, pairing especially well with pale neutrals, blue-grey tones and dark timber. Care guidance specifies a cool machine wash as the minimum wash, professional dry cleaning, no tumble drying, no bleach and a cool iron.

How to use it

Use this cool graphite velvet on a tailored sofa, statement headboard or upholstered bench where its nap can show tonal variation. As curtains or a bedspread, it brings a composed, cocooning depth without introducing a visible pattern.
