Espen Charcoal/Linen

Soren Fabric FabricCCF0667-01

Espen Charcoal/Linen combines a warm linen-beige woven ground with dense charcoal forms arranged in a tightly repeated geometric pattern. Its substantial surface gives the design a softly textured, tactile appearance rather than a flat printed finish.

About this fabric

This 612gsm fabric has a strong upholstery weight, with a 139cm usable width and a 30m standard length. Irregular charcoal blocks and angular silhouettes interrupt the pale linen-toned ground, creating a high-contrast pattern softened by the visible fleck and grain of the weave. The design repeats every 51.5cm vertically and 33.5cm horizontally, giving the medium-scale geometry a consistent, rhythmic layout across a larger upholstered surface. The charcoal reads deep and slightly softened against the warmer beige, producing a grounded, graphic colourway with understated depth.

How to use it

Use Espen Charcoal/Linen on a tailored armchair, sofa or bench where its charcoal-and-beige contrast can act as the room’s principal pattern. Pair it with warm timber, aged leather and quiet taupe textiles to bring out the linen tone without competing with the geometric weave.

A substantial, textural geometric weave that brings graphic contrast to upholstered seating and occasional pieces.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Espen Charcoal/Linen without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
