Broadleaf Old Blue

Ashdown FabricF4820-02

Broadleaf Old Blue shows a delicate trailing botanical print on a warm ivory ground, with foliage picked out in softened old blue, sage and muted blush. The overall effect is airy and understated rather than high-contrast.

About this fabric

This Ashdown fabric is composed of 34% cotton, 30% linen, 21% viscose and 15% polyester, giving the cloth a natural-looking handle with a little added body. The design repeats at approximately V 39cm and H 44cm, and the large-scale leaf clusters read clearly across the 133cm width. In this colourway, the old blue is gently weathered and greyed, so it sits quietly against the cream ground instead of feeling crisp or bright. The scattered blush and mossy accents soften the pattern further, making the overall impression calm, classic and slightly antique. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use it on relaxed armchairs, cushions or curtains where the soft old blue can add pattern without dominating the room. It works especially well with chalky paint colours, pale oak and aged brass.

Pair with pale timber and washed linen for a calm, layered look.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
