Wilde Old Blue

Casey FabricF3927-10

Wilde Old Blue shows a small-scale animal spot with a softly irregular, brushed look across the cloth. The old blue markings sit on a pale ground, giving the design a calm, weathered character rather than a sharp contrast.

About this fabric

Part of the Casey collection by Colefax and Fowler, this fabric is composed of 63% viscose, 22% acrylic and 15% cotton, with a width of approximately 142cm and a repeat of V 9cm / H 18cm. The surface reads as a compact leopard-style spot, but in this colourway the blue tone is subdued and slightly dusty, so the motif feels decorative without becoming loud. The pale background keeps the pattern open and breathable, while the blue-grey markings add enough definition to show clearly from a distance. Its soft, woven texture and moderate scale make it suitable for pieces that need visual interest without dominating the room.

How to use it

Use this muted blue spot on an occasional chair, bench or ottoman to bring pattern into a room without overwhelming other fabrics. It also works well as a curtain or Roman blind where the pale ground and cool blue notes can lift darker woods and painted finishes.

A restrained blue leopard spot that works well on upholstered chairs or tailored curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
