About this fabric
Hampden Navy from the Chester collection by Colefax and Fowler is a fabric, not a wallpaper, with a repeat of approximately V 3cm / H 5cm and a width of approximately 145cm. Its composition is 35% Linen, 28% Viscose, 20% Polyester and 17% Cotton, giving the surface a dry, textured handle with a little softness in the weave. The stripe appears as narrow leaf-like columns in pale putty and sage-tinged neutrals against a dusty navy ground, so the overall effect is more subdued than bright. The colourway has a slightly weathered depth that keeps the pattern smart without feeling severe.
How to use it
Use it on a buttoned armchair, sofa or dining banquette where the small stripe can add structure without overpowering the room. It also suits curtains in a navy-and-neutral scheme, especially alongside oak, painted timber and brushed metal finishes.
