Darwin Red

Cleo FabricJ0249-07

Darwin Red brings a dense, peppered red surface with a lively, textured look. The small all-over pattern reads as richly saturated rather than glossy, giving the colour a grounded warmth.

About this fabric

This Darwin Red colourway from the Cleo collection is a 144cm-wide fabric woven in 44% viscose, 32% cotton and 24% polyester. The repeat is approximately V 16cm / H 18cm, creating a compact, evenly worked pattern across the cloth. In the image, the red sits in a deep tomato-to-crimson range, with slightly darker flecks that add depth and keep the surface from looking flat. The finish appears tactile and softly dappled rather than smooth, which helps the colour feel full and energetic. With no performance features noted and a composition that blends viscose, cotton and polyester, it sits comfortably in a versatile decorative upholstery-or-curtain role.

How to use it

This shade works well as a bold accent against warm neutrals, tobacco leather or dark timber, where its red intensity can stay the focus. It would also lift a scheme with cream walls and brass details, especially if you want a smarter, more vivid note.

Use it to add a vivid red accent with enough body for cushions, occasional seating or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
