Emile Teal

Emile II FabricJ896F-39

Emile Teal is a deep, richly shaded teal with a smooth, plain appearance and a quietly polished finish. The colour reads dark and enveloping in the swatch, with just enough tonal movement to keep it from looking flat.

About this fabric

This colourway from Jane Churchill’s Emile II collection is a plain fabric with no repeat, making the focus entirely the depth of the shade and the even surface. The cloth is composed of 50% cotton and 50% polyester, with a 140cm approximate width, so it offers a practical balance for made-to-measure interiors. In the swatch, Emile Teal appears as a very dark blue-green with a cool, restrained character rather than a bright turquoise note. Its smooth, close texture gives the colour a soft, upholstered look that still suits curtains and other soft furnishings. Care code C 8 + T 3 and fire code K are supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Emile Teal to ground a scheme with pale wood, brass, or chalky neutrals, where the dark teal can bring contrast without feeling loud. It is especially effective when you want a deep, smart accent that still has a soft, versatile textile presence.

A rich dark teal that adds depth and polish to both upholstery and curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
