Kerala Velours Brique

Jalore FabricM4185-01

Kerala Velours Brique shows a rich brique-red velvet ground lifted by vertical, ikat-style motifs in cream, navy, ochre and rust. The pile catches the light with a soft sheen, giving the design depth and a distinctly warm tone.

About this fabric

From the Jalore collection by Manuel Canovas, this fabric is composed of 90% cotton and 10% polyester, with an approximate width of 136cm and a repeat of V 147cm / H 68cm. The visible velvet pile gives the surface a plush, directional texture, while the motif reads as stacked teardrop and eye forms arranged in vertical stripes. The brique base is a deep brick red rather than a bright scarlet, so the pattern feels grounded and richly earthy. Cream, navy, mustard and small flashes of blue sit cleanly against the red ground, creating a smart, decorative contrast without losing the warmth of the cloth.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a statement chair, sofa, or ottoman where the red ground can glow in natural light. It pairs especially well with dark woods, aged brass and plain linen in warm neutral tones.

A warm, patterned velvet that brings richness and movement to a tailored interior.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
