Carrick Plaid Navy is a softly woven tartan-style check with a calm navy ground and lighter cream and stone intersections. The palette is lifted by fine rust-red pinstripes that give the cloth a traditional, slightly tailored feel.

About this fabric

This fabric is supplied as a textile fabric, not wallpaper, with a width of approximately 143cm and a repeat of V 24cm / H 24cm approx. The composition of 46% viscose, 32% cotton, 18% linen and 4% polyester helps explain the dry, lightly textured handle visible in the swatch, where the yarns read woven rather than printed. Navy bands dominate the design, while softened ivory, oat and grey stripes break up the check and keep the overall effect muted rather than stark. The small red accents are subtle but important, adding definition and warmth against the cooler blue ground.

How to use it

Use Carrick Plaid Navy on an armchair, ottoman or bench where the check can be seen at close range and its woven texture appreciated. It also works well for relaxed curtains or Roman blinds in a room with painted woodwork, aged brass and natural wood tones.

Pair with chalky neutrals and dark timber for a classic country look.
