About this fabric

This Oaken fabric from Colefax and Fowler is woven in a 51% cotton, 49% linen blend, giving the cloth a natural, slightly dry hand that suits both furnishings and drapery. The design repeats on a small scale, with a vertical repeat of 13cm and horizontal repeat of 14cm approximately, creating a neat, even rhythm across the surface. Blythe Blue reads as a cool, muted blue-grey rather than a bright azure, so the tiny leaf forms feel calm and tailored against the lighter background. At approximately 141cm wide, it offers practical versatility for upholstery or curtains, and the √BM fire code adds a useful specification for contract or domestic schemes.

How to use it

Use Blythe Blue to soften a study chair, bedside headboard or Roman blind where the fine repeat can be appreciated up close. Its cool, powdery tone pairs especially well with chalk whites, weathered oak and pale grey upholstery.

A refined small-scale blue that works beautifully on upholstered pieces or relaxed curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Blythe Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
