About this fabric

This Silvano Stripes fabric from Colefax and Fowler is a 143cm-wide textile with a repeat of vertical 0cm / horizontal 5cm approx, creating a close, regular stripe across the surface. The mix of 55% cotton, 18% acrylic, 16% viscose, 6% linen, 3% polyamide and 2% polyester gives the cloth a lightly textured, woven handle rather than a flat printed look. In this colourway the tomato stripe feels warm and slightly muted, while the olive notes add a dry, grounded contrast against the pale neutral background. With no performance features noted, it is best chosen for decorative schemes where the striped pattern and its crisp, tailored rhythm can take centre stage.

How to use it

Its warm red-and-olive palette works especially well with painted timber, rush seating and aged brass, giving the room a relaxed country-house sharpness. Use it where you want a small-scale stripe that brings movement without overpowering the rest of the scheme.

Use for crisp upholstery or tailored curtains when you want a lively stripe with a refined country-house feel.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
