Tarn Old Blue

Tarn FabricF4793-03

Tarn Old Blue is a softly weathered blue with a pale, chalky cast and a gently speckled weave. The tiny herringbone texture gives the surface a dry, tactile look that feels understated rather than crisp.

About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric is woven in a 35% Linen, 27% Jute, 19% Acrylic, 14% Cotton, 4% Polyester, 1% Polyamide composition, with a width of approximately 145cm and no visible repeat. In this colourway, the blue sits very quietly within a warm, natural base, so the overall effect is muted and slightly faded rather than bright. The slubbed yarns and flecked weave add movement across the surface, giving it a relaxed, country-house character. The handle implied by the linen and jute content makes it especially convincing for soft furnishing schemes that need texture as well as colour.

How to use it

Use Tarn Old Blue with bleached woods, oatmeal upholstery and brushed metals for a calm, layered room. Its pale blue-grey tone also sits well beside stone, off-white paint and deeper navy accents.

A quietly weathered blue that works beautifully with oak, linen and pale stone.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
