About this fabric

The visible pile shifts gently between lighter taupe and deeper greige as the light moves across the surface, creating depth without a pattern. This is a plain velvet made from 100% polyester, with a smooth, closely woven appearance and soft directional sheen. At 138cm wide, it is listed for both contract and domestic upholstery and includes Contract GreenFR® Plus flame retardancy. The fabric is also machine washable, adding practical flexibility to its refined finish.

How to use it

Pair this warm mushroom taupe with chalky whites, natural oak and muted olive for a relaxed contemporary room. On a sofa, headboard or occasional chair, its subtle sheen adds definition without overpowering a neutral palette.

Use this softly lustrous mushroom taupe on upholstered seating for a calm, polished neutral scheme.

Pairs well with

ESS4307 is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
