About this fabric

This velvet reads as a near-black indigo in the deeper areas, with blue-violet highlights emerging across the pile and pale grey-white flecks breaking up the surface. Its distressed, irregular pattern is formed from short horizontal marks and scattered textural fragments rather than a defined repeated motif. Woven at 138cm wide, the fabric is suitable for both contract and domestic upholstery. The composition is 48% polyester, 48% viscose and 4% cotton, with professional aftercare; it has Domestic Cig & Match flame retardancy and can be treated to Crib 5 contract grade.

How to use it

Use EXT2552 on a statement armchair, sofa or dining seat where its dark indigo tone can act as a dramatic anchor. Balance the blue-violet depth with warm timber, aged brass or softly coloured neutrals to let the pale flecks catch the eye.

Use this richly dark indigo velvet to give upholstered seating a dramatic, textural finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
