Matsu Rosso

Other Fabrics & Weaves Fabric

Matsu Rosso shows a loose trailing floral on a warm cream ground, with fine stems and clustered berry-like blossoms. The red and blush tones give the design a soft, romantic feel rather than a sharp crimson contrast.

About this fabric

This fabric is supplied with a 143cm width and a 61cm pattern repeat, making the trailing branches easy to plan across larger projects. The cloth is made from 86% polyester and 14% viscose, which supports the smooth, lightly lustrous finish visible in the swatch. In this colourway, the tiny blossoms read as layered red, rose and muted pink, while the slender stems sit in a softer brown-grey line against the pale background. The overall effect is decorative but restrained, with enough tonal depth to keep the floral pattern crisp without feeling overly bright.

How to use it

Use Matsu Rosso on an occasional chair, bench cushion or tailored curtains where the warm cream ground can brighten a room. It works especially well with oak, walnut and tobacco leather, which echo the earthy stem tones.

Pair with warm neutrals and natural woods to let the berry stems stand out.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
