Ramayana Velvet Indigo/Red presents a densely illustrated landscape in deep indigo, aged ochre, muted green and concentrated red. Palms, flowering trees, distant figures and small horses create a richly layered scenic surface.

About this fabric

Catalogued as a velvet, this 56% cotton and 44% linen fabric has a substantial decorative presence suited to curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. The indigo passages give the design a cool, shadowed depth, while terracotta-red flowers and ochre foliage bring warmth across the pale sandy ground. Its large-scale scene has a 122 cm vertical repeat and 133 cm horizontal repeat, matching the 133 cm fabric width. The fabric has a 6,000 Wyzenbeek Cotton Duck rub test; care instructions specify professional dry cleaning only, with no washing, bleaching or ironing.

How to use it

Use this indigo-led colourway on a statement armchair, headboard or loose-covered sofa, allowing its red flowers and ochre landscape details to sit against quiet neutral walls. Full-length curtains can emphasise the panoramic repeat and its formal, collected character.
