Chifu Imari Red/Indigo is filled with overlapping circular medallions, floral rosettes and fine ornamental detail. Rust red, indigo, ochre and muted blue-grey create a richly layered colourway with an antique textile character.

About this fabric

The dense medallion arrangement combines deep indigo grounds with rust-red borders, warm ochre centres, cream highlights and occasional green accents. At 137 cm wide, the fabric has a 62 cm vertical pattern repeat and a 137 cm horizontal repeat, allowing the circular motifs to read clearly across larger applications. Made from 67% viscose and 33% linen, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Its 25,000 Martindale rub test supports use on seating, while the intricate pattern gives upholstered pieces a highly decorative, collected look.

How to use it

Use Imari Red/Indigo on a statement chair, ottoman or headboard to bring its rust and indigo medallions into focus, balancing the strong pattern with plain blue-grey, linen or warm neutral surroundings. It can also be made into curtains or a bedspread where the 137 cm-wide repeat has room to unfold across the full design.
