Enigmatic Japanese Ink
Reflect Fabrics FabricHAF0541-03
Enigmatic Japanese Ink brings a cool, high-contrast palette of deep navy brushwork and irregular ivory forms to the Reflect Fabrics collection. The distressed marks and scattered flecks give the surface a distinctly painterly, ink-wash character.

About this fabric
The image shows rounded, pebble-like ivory shapes surrounded by broad ink-blue strokes, with fine speckling and scratch-like marks breaking up the dark areas. At 315 gsm, this is a substantial mid-weight fabric suitable for both upholstery and drapery applications. Its 140 cm usable width allows the large-scale design to read clearly, while the 58 cm vertical and 140 cm horizontal repeats define the rhythm of the pattern. With 26.8 threads per centimetre, the cloth has a closely constructed specification to complement its visually textured surface.
How to use it
Use this cool ink-blue colourway on an occasional chair, bench or full-length curtain where its ivory shapes can stand out against soft grey, chalk or natural wood. Keep surrounding furnishings restrained so the dark painterly network remains the room’s strongest graphic element.
Pair the cool ink-blue and ivory palette with quiet neutrals, pale timber or aged metallic accents.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Enigmatic Japanese Ink without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
