About this fabric

The swatch combines a muted cornflower-blue ground with narrow raised lines in a subtly contrasting blue-grey tone, creating a small-scale vertical zigzag pattern. Its velvet surface catches the light in softly shifting bands, giving the cool colour depth without making it appear bright or highly saturated. At 605 gsm and 71 threads per cm, this is a substantial, densely made textile suited to upholstery. The pattern repeats every 4.1 cm vertically and 8.6 cm horizontally across a 131.5 cm usable width, with a standard length of 35 m.

How to use it

Use Perplex Cornflower on a tailored armchair, sofa or headboard where its cool blue tone can balance warm timber, pale stone and brushed metal. Its compact geometric repeat also works well on structured seating, allowing the velvet sheen to add depth without overwhelming the form.

Use this weighty blue velvet to bring tailored texture and cool colour to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
