About this fabric

The small-scale herringbone is clearly visible across the cloth, with alternating dark and pale threads creating a softly broken grey surface rather than a flat solid. Made from 16% linen, 18% viscose, 20% cotton, 40% wool and 6% polyester, it has the structured look of a tailored woven blend. At approximately 137cm wide, it is supplied for curtains and fixed upholstery and is graded for Contract and General Domestic use. After-care is dry clean.

How to use it

Use Faroe Smoke on a compact sofa, headboard or dining chair where its cool olive-grey depth can anchor warmer stone, taupe and natural wood tones. It also makes restrained curtains that add pattern without introducing a strong contrast.

Its muted smoke-grey herringbone brings quiet texture to tailored upholstery, curtains and layered neutral schemes.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Faroe Smoke without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
