About this fabric

The close-set herringbone is small in scale and clearly visible across the swatch, with fine contrasting threads creating a neat chevron rhythm. The aubergine colour reads deep and muted rather than bright, shifting towards charcoal-plum in the denser areas of the weave. Made from 16% linen, 18% viscose, 20% cotton, 40% wool and 6% polyester, this 137cm-wide fabric is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery. It carries Contract and General Domestic upholstery grades and requires dry cleaning.

How to use it

Pair this cool, dark aubergine with chalky neutrals, warm timber or dusky lilac accents; its compact herringbone suits tailored seating as well as full-length curtains.

Use the deep aubergine tone to bring tailored contrast to neutral upholstery or softly filtered curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
