Moleskin Velvet Mercury is a deep, cool blue-grey velvet with a softly brushed surface and a quiet, directional sheen. The folded swatch shows the shade shifting from smoky grey into darker charcoal where the pile turns away from the light.

About this fabric

This plain velvet is made from 100% polyester and measures approximately 137cm wide. Its Contract and General Domestic grading makes it suitable for fixed upholstery, while the smooth pile gives the Mercury colourway a polished, luxurious finish. The cool charcoal tone remains muted rather than black, with the nap creating subtle tonal movement across the folds. Allow 3% shrinkage; care is by delicate wash at 30°C or dry cleaning, with no tumble drying.

How to use it

Use Mercury on a sofa, headboard or occasional chair where its cool charcoal depth can anchor pale stone, concrete grey and brushed metal accents. Pair the velvet with warm timber or softly coloured cushions to balance its blue-grey cast.

A cool, shadowed charcoal velvet that brings quiet depth to contemporary and classic upholstered seating.
