About this fabric

This plain velvet has a dense, even pile that catches the light with a gentle sheen, softening the intensity of the pink. The shade feels vivid and jewel-like rather than pastel, making the fabric look especially plush in the swatch. It is supplied at 137cm wide and has a 100,000 Martindale rub test, so it is well suited to both contract and general domestic upholstery. The composition of 60% polyester, 28% recycled polyester, 8% acrylic and 4% viscose supports its practical performance, while the BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1 rating adds further reassurance. It is also specified for curtains, loose cover upholstery and fixed upholstery, and the plain repeat keeps the finish clean and contemporary.

How to use it

Use Folly on an accent chair, banquette or ottoman where the saturated pink can become the room’s focal point. It also makes a dramatic curtain in a scheme with dark woods, smoky neutrals or crisp white walls.

A vivid velvet that brings a confident pop of colour to statement seating or tailored drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
