About this fabric

This colourway reads as a muted fudge-brown with an olive cast, so it feels earthy and composed rather than overtly chocolatey. The velvet surface has a low, even nap that gives the cloth a soft sheen when the light moves across it. It is supplied as a 137cm-wide fabric and works for curtains, loose cover upholstery and fixed upholstery, with a robust 100,000 Martindale rub test and contract/general domestic suitability. The composition of 60% polyester, 28% recycled polyester, 8% acrylic and 4% viscose helps explain the fabric’s smooth handle and practical durability. It is also rated A for cigarette and match ignition under BS5852 Part 1.

How to use it

Use this shade on a sofa or banquette where its warm, restrained colour can ground the room without feeling heavy. It pairs especially well with natural timber, aged brass and softer neutrals, or with deep green accents for a richer scheme.

A warm, earthy velvet that works well on tailored seating and structured curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
