Maru Fabric005

Hinako Dragon Fruit pairs a vivid pink ground with a soft cream damask motif, giving the linen a bold but wearable contrast. The woven texture shows clearly in the surface, adding a relaxed, natural feel to the pattern.

About this fabric

This colourway of Hinako is worked in 100% linen and has a crisp, slightly slubbed handle visible in the weave. The pattern repeats as a medium-scale damask with a 38cm half drop, and here the pale motif sits sharply against a bright dragon fruit pink ground. The overall effect is energetic and decorative rather than pastel, with enough depth in the ground colour to keep the design grounded on larger pieces. It is rated for General Domestic upholstery and has a 30,000 Martindale rub test, making it a practical choice for fixed seating as well as lighter-use accent pieces. It also conforms to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, and can be machine washed at 30C with 3% shrinkage allowance, or dry cleaned.

How to use it

Use it on an occasional chair, bench cushion or headboard where the pink can act as the room’s focal point. It works especially well with warm neutrals, pale timber and simple cream walls that echo the motif.

A lively pink linen that brings crisp pattern and a fresh, statement finish to structured seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Hinako Dragon Fruit without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
