Hinako Indigo

Maru Fabric011

Hinako Indigo shows a crisp, all-over floral lattice on a deep indigo ground. The motif reads softly chalked in a pale warm cream, which lifts the design and gives the linen a hand-printed feel.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen, this Maru fabric has the dry, natural texture you can see in the swatch, with the indigo base sitting behind a lighter, painterly floral repeat. The design is set with an approximate 38cm half-drop repeat and the fabric is 137cm wide, making it practical for tailored upholstery projects with pattern matching in mind. With a 30,000 Martindale rub test and a General Domestic upholstery grade, it is suitable for fixed upholstery use while still keeping the relaxed character of linen. It also carries an A FR rating to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, and can be machine washed at 30C with allowance for 3% shrinkage, or dry cleaned.

How to use it

This indigo colourway works well on an occasional chair, ottoman or headboard where the pale motif can stand out against the darker ground. Team it with natural timber, parchment tones or soft brass for a refined but unfussy scheme.

Pair with warm oak or ivory to soften the rich indigo ground.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
