Omega Velvet 4 Azure is a smooth, plain velvet in a deep azure blue with a cool, saturated look. The pile catches the light softly, giving the surface a restrained sheen rather than a high gloss.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a strong, inky azure with a slightly smoky depth, so it feels cleaner and cooler than a teal or navy. The velvet surface has the dense, even finish you would expect from a hard-wearing upholstery cloth, and the plain construction keeps the focus on the colour and nap. It is supplied at 137cm wide and has a 100,000 Martindale rub test, making it suitable for contract and general domestic upholstery, as well as curtains and loose covers. The fabric is FR rated to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, and the polyester-rich blend with recycled polyester helps support practical everyday use.

How to use it

Use Azure on a tailored armchair, banquette or headboard for a crisp hit of colour against pale wood, chalky white or soft grey. It also works well as curtains where the shade can shift from brighter blue in daylight to a deeper midnight tone in the evening.
