Ima Marine

Maru Fabric002

Ima Marine shows a crisp diamond lattice in marine blue, cream and fresh green accents, giving the swatch a lively, hand-blocked look. The linen ground keeps the pattern looking breathable and relaxed rather than heavy.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen, this Maru fabric has a natural, lightly slubbed surface that suits the drawn, organic edges of the motif. The design repeats on an approximate 40.5cm half drop, with small flower-like centres set inside each blue diamond and linked by green joins. With a Martindale rub test of 30,000 and an upholstery grade of General Domestic, it is practical for fixed upholstery while keeping its decorative character. It is also machine washable at 30C, though washing instructions note 3% shrinkage and the aftercare is dry clean. The overall effect is cool and coastal, with the marine blue softened by cream and lifted by the little green details.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an occasional chair, ottoman or banquette where the blue-and-cream geometry can be seen clearly. It works especially well with off-white paint, blonde timber and plain linen cushions in muted green or sand.

Pair with pale woods and simple plains to let the fresh diamond motif lead.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
