Hinako Grenadine

Maru Fabric004

Hinako Grenadine shows a repeating damask-style motif in soft ivory against a vivid coral-red linen ground. The result is upbeat and warm, with the woven texture still visible beneath the pattern.

About this fabric

This colourway has a lively coral-red base with a slightly sun-washed, grenadine tone, lifted by the pale ivory motif that sits clearly on top of the linen weave. The 100% linen cloth has a natural texture and a crisp enough handle for fixed upholstery, while the 30,000 Martindale rating confirms it is suited to general domestic use. It is also FR rated to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, and supplied at 137cm wide with a 38cm half-drop repeat. The washed-looking colour keeps the design from feeling too formal, even though the scrolling damask pattern gives it a smart, decorative finish. Machine wash at 30C is possible, with 3% shrinkage allowed, though dry cleaning is also specified.

How to use it

Use it on an accent chair, ottoman, or bench where the coral ground can bring warmth to pale plaster, stone, or oak. It also works well with cream paintwork and brass details, which pick up the ivory motif without competing with the pattern.

The coral ground and soft ivory motif give this linen a warm, lively look for tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
