Tidal Marmalade

Chesil Fabric

Tidal Marmalade is a richly textural Chesil colourway with a lively, rippled weave in burnt orange and pale oatmeal. The small-scale pattern gives the surface movement without losing its tailored feel.

About this fabric

Woven in 5% polyester, 26% linen, 16% cotton and 53% viscose, this fabric has a dry, tactile handle and a softly slubbed look that suits seating beautifully. The 35,000 martindale rub test and fixed upholstery specification make it a practical choice for contract and general domestic schemes. Its orange ground is warmed by cinnamon and terracotta notes, while the lighter yarns soften the overall effect and keep the pattern from reading too heavy. At 137cm wide with an approximate 35cm vertical pattern repeat, it offers a structured, rhythmic finish across larger pieces.

How to use it

Use Tidal Marmalade on an accent chair, banquette or cushion front where its warm, spicy tone can energise the room. It works especially well against oak, walnut, stone and deep green finishes.

Pair with warm woods and muted neutrals to let the lively woven texture do the work.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
