About this fabric

This plain velvet has the smooth, low-sheen look you can see in the swatch image, with the pile creating gentle shifts between darker and lighter green as the light moves across it. The colourway is a rich shamrock green, close to woodland and moss tones, so it feels vivid without looking neon or overly cool. At 137cm wide and made from 60% Polyester, 28% Recycled Polyester, 8% Acrylic and 4% Viscose, it is a practical upholstery velvet with a substantial handle. With a Martindale rub test of 100,000 and upholstery grading for Contract and General Domestic use, it is well suited to hard-working seating as well as curtains and loose covers. It is also FR compliant to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, and the care instructions include dry clean and delicate wash at 30C, with stain resistance noted.

How to use it

Use Shamrock on a statement armchair, banquette, or ottoman where its depth can show in natural light. It also works beautifully for curtains in a room with oak, brass or dark painted joinery, where the green feels especially luxurious.

A rich green velvet with a smart, versatile finish for seating or full drapes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
