About this fabric

This plain velvet has the plush, close pile you would expect from a contract-grade upholstery fabric, and the surface catches the light softly rather than with a high gloss. In Seaweed, the shade sits between olive and moss, giving the cloth a muted forest character that looks especially rich in shade. It is specified for curtains, loose cover upholstery and fixed upholstery, with a 137cm width and a durable 100,000 Martindale rub test. The composition of 60% Polyester, 28% Recycled Polyester, 8% Acrylic and 4% Viscose supports its practical handle, while the BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1 fire rating adds further confidence for domestic and contract use.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an occasional chair, banquette or sofa where the deep olive tone can ground lighter woods, brass and linen. It also works well for curtains in rooms that need a darker, cocooning green without looking overly saturated.

Rich and restrained, this dark olive velvet brings depth to tailored seating and contract schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
