About this fabric

This colourway reads as an earthy sand tone with a subtle golden-beige warmth, shown here as a smooth, even velvet with a very fine nap. It is part of Linwood’s Omega IV collection and has a durable 100,000 Martindale rub test, making it suitable for contract and general domestic use. The fabric is 137cm wide and available for curtains, loose cover upholstery and fixed upholstery, while the BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1 rating adds an extra layer of reassurance. Its polyester-rich composition, with recycled polyester and a touch of acrylic and viscose, helps give the cloth its plush hand and softly shaded finish. Care is straightforward: wash with care at 30C or dry clean, and avoid ironing or tumble drying.

How to use it

Use this sand velvet to soften contemporary sofas, headboards or banquettes, especially alongside oak, limestone and brushed brass. It also works beautifully for curtains where you want a warm neutral that stays light and refined rather than stark.

A versatile sand velvet that pairs easily with natural woods and layered neutrals.

Pairs well with

Omega Velvet 4 Sand is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
