Pluto Carmine

Pluto Fabric

Pluto Carmine reads as a warm, earthy terracotta with a soft heathered surface and subtle vertical slubbing. The colour feels sunbaked and grounded rather than bright, giving the cloth an inviting depth.

About this fabric

Woven in a plain design, this Pluto colourway combines 30% Cotton, 25% Viscose, 15% Linen and 30% Wool for a dry, tactile handle with visible texture. The 137cm width and dual-purpose usage make it practical for curtains, loose covers and both fixed and loose upholstery, while the 40,000 Martindale rub test supports contract and general domestic use. Its terracotta ground is broken by lighter flecks and fine vertical striations, which soften the red-brown tone and keep it from feeling flat. The FR rating conforms to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, and it should be dry cleaned. Stain resistant performance adds further everyday practicality.

How to use it

Use Pluto Carmine on an armchair, bench or roman blind to bring warmth to oak, walnut and weathered brass. Its muted red-brown tone also sits well with chalky neutrals, olive accents and woven natural textures.

A rich earthy tone that works well with natural wood and textured neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
