Pluto Noir
Pluto Fabric
Pluto Noir is a very deep charcoal with a soft, almost graphite cast that reads quietly refined rather than stark black. The plain weave gives the surface a restrained, textural depth that lifts the darkness in the light.

About this fabric
This colourway sits in a dark charcoal-black range with subtle cool undertones, so it feels softer than jet black and less brown than an espresso shade. The visible plain weave adds a fine, linen-like texture across the surface, giving the fabric a calm, tailored finish. Made from 30% Cotton, 25% Viscose, 15% Linen and 30% Wool, it has the balanced hand of a versatile upholstery cloth rather than a crisp drapery-only textile. It is 137cm wide, has an approximate vertical pattern repeat of Plain, and is suitable for Curtains, Loose Cover Upholstery, Dual Purpose and Fixed Upholstery. With a Martindale rub test of 40,000, upholstery grade Contract and General Domestic, and FR compliance to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, it is well suited to hard-working interiors.
How to use it
Use Pluto Noir on a sofa, banquette or deep curtain drape where a dark grounded tone is wanted without the flatness of pure black. It pairs especially well with pale plaster, warm timber and brushed metal for a sharp, modern contrast.
A dark, understated neutral for tailored upholstery or elegant curtains.

Pairs well with
Pluto Noir is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
