Islay Teal

Bohemian Romance FabricFD700.R11

Islay Teal has a cool, muted blue-teal ground crossed by a balanced plaid of cream, tan and fine rust lines. The closely woven surface gives the colourway a softly heathered, tactile appearance rather than a flat block of colour.

About this fabric

Woven in 50% Merino Wool and 50% Wool, this 150 cm-wide fabric has a substantial texture suited to both practical upholstery and curtains. The 12 cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeats form medium-scale checks, with pale lines catching the light against the deeper teal ground. Rust and brown pinstripes add warmth without overpowering the cooler blue-green base, while the slightly nubby wool surface keeps the plaid relaxed. It is also specified for loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Use Islay Teal on a reading chair, sofa or headboard where its cool blue-green depth can anchor a room, then repeat the cream lines with light upholstery or painted joinery. As curtains, the plaid brings a tailored country character while the rust detailing connects naturally with timber and warm metal accents.

A substantial wool plaid that brings cool teal depth and warm linear contrast to upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
