About this fabric

The ground reads as a deep brick red rather than a bright scarlet, with narrow beige-tan lines and darker burgundy intersections forming a balanced check. Its woven surface has a soft, lightly brushed appearance that suits the substantial character of wool. Composed of 50% Merino Wool and 50% Wool, the 150 cm-wide fabric has a 12 cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat. It is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; care instructions require professional dry cleaning and prohibit washing, bleaching and ironing.

How to use it

Use Islay Red to upholster a traditional armchair, dining seat or headboard where its muted brick tone can add warmth without appearing vivid. It also makes characterful curtains or a bedspread when paired with oat, tan, dark timber and aged brass.
