Nevis Red/Stone combines softened brick red with stone beige in a finely woven check, enlivened by cool blue-green and warm ochre threads. The layered colour gives the plaid a gently weathered, tactile character rather than a flat block of red.

About this fabric

Woven from 100% wool, this checked fabric has a softly flecked surface and intersecting bands of muted red, stone, pale blue and subdued golden brown. Its 28cm vertical and 25cm horizontal pattern repeat creates a medium-scale plaid that reads clearly while retaining a blended, tonal appearance. At 150cm wide and tested to 35,000 Martindale, it is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Care requirements are professional dry cleaning only; do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use Nevis Red/Stone on a relaxed armchair, sofa or headboard where its warm red and stone base can anchor a room, then pick up the cooler blue-green threads with painted wood or plain cushions. Its medium check also makes softly gathered curtains or a tailored bedspread with visual depth.
