Denim - 2004/43

Misc Fabric

Denim - 2004/43 has a deep charcoal-black appearance with a cool, almost ink-like depth. Its close, softly irregular surface catches the light in tiny flecks rather than a distinct pattern.

About this fabric

This textile fabric is visually dense, with a short nubby surface made up of fine loops and curled fibres. The near-black charcoal tone is softened by subtle grey highlights across the pile, preventing it from reading as a flat solid. There is no visible motif or repeat, so the interest comes from the tactile weave and gently varied surface. Its substantial-looking texture makes it best suited to upholstery, particularly where a dark, quietly tailored finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use this cool charcoal-black colourway on a sofa, occasional chair or upholstered headboard, pairing it with pale timber, warm neutrals or brushed metal to balance its depth. Its softly flecked surface can also add texture to a predominantly monochrome room.

A dense, softly nubby dark textile that gives upholstered seating a quietly tailored finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
