Geneva yellow

Katsura Fabricgeneva/fa1/cit

Geneva Yellow reads as a softly muted mustard with earthy grey and cream threads breaking up the stripes. The woven surface gives it a tactile, hand-crafted look that feels warm rather than bright.

About this fabric

This Katsura colourway is woven in a 55% cotton, 24% viscose, 12% linen, 7% acrylic and 2% polyester blend, with a substantial 930 gsm weight and a 20,000 Martindale rating. The visible pattern is a layered stripe with uneven woven bands, combining yellow ochre, soft cream, stone grey and tiny hints of pink for a weathered, artisan feel. At 140 cm usable width, it is practical for curtains, blinds and upholstery, and the dry-clean-only finish with dry iron care suits a considered interior scheme. The overall effect is warm and grounded, with the yellow softened by neutral yarns so it feels more heritage than primary. This is a fabric that holds enough body for upholstery while still showing interesting movement in drapery.

How to use it

Use this colourway to lift a neutral room with a sun-baked, textured accent that sits comfortably alongside oak, linen and aged brass. It works especially well on a sofa or roman blind where the horizontal striping can add rhythm without overpowering the space.

A warm, textural stripe that brings a grounded, contemporary feel to both seating and window treatments.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
