About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Melford Weaves collection has a compact woven handle, with 88 threads per cm and a substantial 270 gsm weight that makes it feel suited to upholstery. The pattern repeat is a restrained 1.6 cm horizontally with no vertical repeat, so the chevron-like texture stays subtle and continuous. In this colourway, the yellow is mellow and slightly creamy, sitting between buttery and straw-toned rather than overtly vivid. The weave catches light softly, which helps the surface look lively without becoming shiny or harsh. With a usable width of 138.5 cm, it offers practical coverage for seating and cushions.

How to use it

Use Melford Sunflower on an armchair, bench cushion or dining chairs where its warm yellow will lift darker woods and painted neutrals. It pairs especially well with soft greys, chalky whites and natural linens for a bright but settled room.

A warm, light-catching weave that brings gentle sunshine to classic and contemporary seating alike.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
