About this colour

At #DCD8CC, Grey Birch Light sits between grey, beige and a hint of pale taupe, so it brings softness without looking yellow. On a wall it lifts the room gently, holding light in a calm way rather than reflecting it sharply. In a north-facing room it can feel cooler and more masonry-like, with the grey side coming forward; in south-facing light the warmth appears more clearly and the colour reads as an easy, settled neutral. It works well in Active Emulsion on walls and in Waterbased Eggshell on joinery, especially beside natural oak, painted skirting and upholstered pieces in flax, oatmeal or muted green.

How to use it

Use Grey Birch Light in sitting rooms, studies or hallways where you want a restrained backdrop. It sits neatly with pale timber, off-white woodwork and upholstery in sage, stone, putty or charcoal.

A soft greige wall colour that stays calm and usable in changing light.

Pairs well with

Grey Birch Light is a wall colour, so these are the cloths that sit against it: one of them on the curtains, the paint behind. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
