Etchings & Roses French Blue combines a saturated, cool blue ground with finely drawn ivory and pale grey flowers, foliage and butterflies. The strong contrast makes each botanical spray read clearly across the surface.

About this fabric

Large roses, open flowers and curling stems are arranged among smaller butterflies, creating a richly detailed botanical composition without a horizontal repeat. The ivory drawings have a subtly etched appearance, while the French blue ground gives the design crisp definition and a distinctly formal mood. This wallpaper has a 68.6 cm usable width and is supplied in a standard 10.05 m length. Its 64 cm vertical pattern repeat and 156 gsm weight are supplied specifications for this colourway.

How to use it

Use this cool, saturated blue as the room’s defining colour, pairing it with warm ivory upholstery, pale timber or restrained brass to echo the floral linework. It would suit a formal sitting room, bedroom or intimate dining space where the large botanical scale can be appreciated.

Use the deep blue ground to bring crisp contrast and formal botanical character to a room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
