Etchings & Roses China Blue

Sanderson One Sixty Wallpapers WallpaperSAW0160-01

Etchings & Roses China Blue places fine blue botanical drawings against a warm ivory ground. Large flowering stems, roses, leaves and small scattered insects create an airy but richly detailed composition.

About this wallpaper

The cool China Blue ink tones range from delicate, almost washed-out blue to deeper outline shading, giving the flowers an engraved, hand-drawn appearance. The design includes open branching stems, full roses, broad leaves and small butterflies or insects, with generous ivory space between the motifs. It has a 64 cm vertical pattern repeat and a 0 cm horizontal repeat, allowing the composition to run continuously across the 68.6 cm usable width. Each standard length is 10.05 m, and the supplied weight is 156 gsm.

How to use it

Use this cool blue-and-ivory colourway in a bedroom, dining room or garden-facing sitting room with soft white paint and washed timber. Pick out the deeper blue linework in cushions or ceramic accessories rather than adding a stronger competing colour.

Pair the cool China Blue florals with chalky whites, painted timber and pale natural linens for a calm, traditional scheme.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Etchings & Roses China Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
