About this fabric

This Zoffany Domino Velvets design is a substantial 569 gsm velvet, making it particularly well suited to upholstery. Its 33 cm vertical and 45 cm horizontal repeat creates alternating textured columns rather than a conventional all-over floral or geometric arrangement. The 138 cm usable width accommodates the pattern across many upholstery applications, while the stated 85 threads per cm supports the visibly dense surface. Against the cool petrol-teal ground, the muted gold and taupe markings read softly rather than brightly, giving the colourway a deep, quietly opulent character.

How to use it

Use the deep petrol-teal shade to anchor a sofa, headboard or occasional chair, then draw out the motif’s muted gold and taupe details with aged brass, walnut and warm neutral textiles. The vertical pattern is especially effective on tall upholstered forms where its columnar rhythm can remain visible.
